Here we go!  Day 2 of the Pre 4th of July celebration here at imtjen! This activity will work on fine motor skills, color recognition, get your child reading, writing ALL while spending some quality family time!

What you need:

  • Wire hanger
  • Ribbon or yarn
  • Red, white and blue construction paper
  • Single hole-puncher
  • Scissor
  • Pencil
  • Non-fiction book about the 4th of July

What to do:

  1. With the pencil, draw a 5-point star onto each of the 3 pieces of construction paper.
  2. Cut out each star-you should now have a red, white and blue one.
  3. With the single hole puncher, punch one hole at the top of the 3 stars.
  4. Weave a piece of ribbon/yarn through each of the stars and tie a knot.
  5. Tie the opposite end of the ribbon/yarn onto the wire hanger.
  6. If your child/children are a little bit older, have them write one fun fact about the 4th of July onto the back of each star!

Happy Learning!
