Good Morning!!  Welcome back and here is your Day 3 Pre 4th of July Lesson/Activity!  I had a great time creating this one with my daughter yesterday and I hope that you and your family will enjoy it too!!

What you need:

  • Red, white OR blue construction paper
  • Finger paint (red or blue)
  • Washable markers
  • Small sponge brush

What to do:

  1. With a marker write the letters PRIDE vertically down the middle of the construction paper. For example:

2. Brainstorm a list of words that represent the 4th of July to create an acrostic poem.  Here is my example, but you DO NOT need to use mine-get creative!

3. Now that the acrostic poem has been completed, get those finger paints ready! Using the sponge brush, paint a small amount of finger paint onto your child’s hand and press down firmly onto the far left side of the construction paper.

4. Repeat the same process with the other hand.  You should now have your child’s handprint on the left side and the 4th of July PRIDE acrostic on the right side of the construction paper.

5.  For durability, I recommend getting the placemat(s)  laminated.  This way, it can easily be wiped down after use and be preserved for the future!

Happy Learning!
