What can I say?  The Perez Family had  an amazing 4th of July weekend with our family and friends on the river!  July 4, 2010 will be a day that will not be forgotten any time soon!  This weekend was filled with tons of belly laughs, delicious food and quality time with family and friends!  I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life and I know that the blessings are continuing to pour themselves in!

As I shared with you all last week, I was in charge of a few educational activities for our kiddos this weekend and boy….did they have a blast!

Here is the book I read to the kiddos~ Biscuit’s Fourth of July.

Peyton enjoying a 2nd read of Biscuit’s Fourth of July!

And now…. time for the Star Spangled Wavers!!  The kiddos really had a blast gathering their supplies: glue, read/white/blue felt stars, ribbon and a wooden dowel.  I took advantage of this learning opportunity to review some colors (red, white, blue) and to do some simple counting with the stars!  Learning can be fun~ just look for these opportunities and take advantage of them!

The supplies for the Star Spangled Wavers….

Here I am helping Little A glue her white star to her blue star!

All three stars now glued together!  Time for…

Gluing the dowel in between the two large blue stars! Whew…almost finished!

The last step is to tie the ribbon onto the dowel, near the actual star! Voila!! Star Spangled Wavers! Little C was having a ball with the ones that she made!

I hope you all had a blessed 4th of July Weekend!

Happy Learning!
